Ambassadors
Ambassadors extend a welcome during special events. Annually coordinates Business After Hours and Ribbon Cuttings and hosts the Member Meeting, New Member Luncheon and Get To Know a CEO. Meets the second Thursday of each month September-May at 8 AM.
Buy Local
Buy Local is a program to encourage shopping and buying products in Greater Burlington. The process will includes marketing, promotions, and enhancing the Chamber Bucks program. This committee is now forming and will meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 8 AM.
Greater Burlington Leadership
Greater Burlington Leadership will focus on leadership and training opportunities for business employees. This committee is now forming and will meet on the fourth Thursday of the month at 8 AM.
Government Affairs
Government Affairs develops legislative statements and plans trips to Des Moines and Washington D.C.; hosts Eggs n' Issues breakfast forums and candidate forums for local elections; and hosts annual public elected appreciation event. Meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 AM.
Transportation
Transportation volunteers work to influence decisions related to transportation improvements for Des Moines County business and industry. Meets twice a year or on an as needed basis.
Business Retention/Expansion
Business Retention/Expansion conducts existing industry calls and coordinates the small business and manufacturer's appreciation events. Committee members actively participate in the existing industry calls and understand the importance of confidentiality. Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 AM.
Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship administers the annual business plan competition and works with area stakeholders to market events and workshops for budding entrepreneurs. The committee members share information regarding upcoming entrepreneurial events and actively promote the business plan competition. Meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:30 AM.
Greater Burlington Young Professionals
Greater Burlington Young Professionals is a social networking organization that provides opportunities to foster relationships with peers and to promote the personal and professional development of our members. The Leadership Council meets the 3rd Friday of the month at 12 PM.
Future Workforce
Future Workforce coordinates the 5th and 8th grade career fairs and focuses on developing our youth for future careers. There is representation on the committee from industry, government agencies, the private sector, and from temporary staffing agencies. Meets the third Tuesday of each month at 4 PM.
Downtown Development
Downtown Development works on issues devoted to Downtown Burlington including redevelopment of buildings, attraction of businesses and upper story use. Meets the second Tuesday of each month at 12 PM.
Downtown Design
Downtown Design focuses on the visual quality of the Downtown, including improvements to building facades, signs, window displays, landscaping, streetscape and litter control. Meets the last Tuesday of the month at 12 PM.
Downtown Marketing and Promotion
Downtown Marketing and Promotion coordinates retail, special events, and image campaigns for the Downtown. This committee is devoted to creating unique shopping experiences and activities. Meets the last Tuesday of the month at 8 AM.
Marketing
Marketing is responsible for promoting and informing the local area and members of the Greater Burlington Partnership the news and events through different marketing media. Meets the second Friday of the month at 8 AM.
Annual Dinner and Fundraiser
Annual Dinner and Fundraiser plans the annual meeting for the members of the Greater Burlington Partnership. This event features dinner, a silent auction and fundraiser. Meets August-February.
Chamber Business Appreciation Golf Classic
Chamber Business Appreciation Golf Classic coordinates a fun day on the course where members are encouraged to bring customers and vendors while raising funds for the Chamber of Commerce. Meets March-August.
Value-Added Ag/Biotech
Value-Added Ag/Biotech assists the organization in marketing the area to prospective businesses in the agriculture and biotech sectors. The committee also works on flood control and issues relevant to the river. Committee members serve as the organization's eyes and ears within the agriculture industry. Meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 AM.
