Business Plan Competition

The Greater Burlington Partnership administers the annual Des Moines County Business Plan Competition.  Participants compete for an award package that includes seed capital (a cash grant), lease assistance, a complimentary website design, online training programs, and a complimentary chamber of commerce membership.  The cash prize for 2012 is $9,000.

Sponsors of the competition include Downtown Partners, Inc. and Westland Mall.

Participants in the competition must enroll in a business plan course offered by Southeastern Community College, and one-on-one mentoring assistance is provided at no charge by the Small Business Development Center.

The next competition round will launch in January of 2013.
