The Greater Burlington Partnership is the identity for the overall organization which includes the Burlington/West Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce, Grow Greater Burlington, Inc., Greater Burlington Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Downtown Partners, Inc..
Burlington/West Burlington Area Chamber of CommerceThe Burlington/West Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce exists to improve and grow the economic, social and political environments of Des Moines County, Iowa. We are the focal point to facilitate commerce and a desirable quality of life, to guarantee successful futures for all members of our regional community. The Chamber of Commerce is funded by membership dues from 600 members in Des Moines County and surrounding areas. We also hold a variety of fundraisers throughout the year to raise additional funds.
Grow Greater BurlingtonGrow Greater Burlington mission is to retain and add jobs, enhance the tax base and continuously improve the business climate in Des Moines County. Funding for GGB includes donations from a pledge campaign.
Greater Burlington Convention & Visitors BureauThe Greater Burlington Convention & Visitors Bureau is to attract visitors to our area and offer them information on a wide variety of attractions, entertainment, shopping, restaurants and other amenities they may be interested in. The CVB is funded through the local hotel/motel tax that is collected by visitors who stay in one of local hotels, motels or bed and breakfasts. Most cities that you stay in have this type of tax.
Downtown Partners, Inc.Downtown Partners, Inc. mission is to preserve and revitalize Downtown Burlington within the context of historic preservation. The goal of Downtown Partners is to enhance the economic, historical and cultural features of Downtown Burlington. Funding for Downtown Partners, Inc. comes from contributions from the City of Burlington, property owners, business owners and others. Funds are needed for DPI operations and program of work. Property owners in the Downtown contribute through the Self Supporting Municipal Improvement District (SSMID) tax.
